about

Behavioural Patterns is inspired by the rise and fall of civilization, psychology, and human emotion. Side A delves into human compulsion and psychological studies. What makes us human and how can we battle our urges and destructive impulses? Side B, starting with Hierarchical Organizations, draws inspiration from the infamous experiment “Universe 25” by John Calhoun executed in the 1970’s. The goal of this experiment was to create a utopia for rodents where all needs were met, and threats abolished. The beginning was promising, and the population grew and flourished but as time passed problems started emerging. Vanity, chaos, cannibalism, death, and ultimately absolute decline. The question remains; are our human societies built to last or are we simply performing the same experiment in everlasting cycles until one day there are no resources and building blocks left?

The soundscapes of the album stand firmly on electronic ambient and instrumental themes and momentary reach for dark drones and experimental executions. Burst of shamisen and subtle instrumentations with the Daxophone, both performed by [ówt krì], as well as acoustic guitar and electric bass (performed by Pigments), give a human touch to the electronic soundscapes.
